Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is characterized by a persistent blockage of air flow, which is an underdiagnosed and potentially fatal disease that alters normal breathing. At present, this disease represents one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The present work intends to promote the integration between different cultures through research exchange, in which the problem that symbolizes the COPD at a regional level will be presented. This study will be executed in the Regional Hospital of Encarnacion through analysis of clinical records, exploration and evaluation of patients exhibiting symptoms belonging to the aforementioned pathology.
What is the aim of the project?
To establish the epidemiological profile and the prevalence of COPD in patients of legal age who go to the Regional Hospital of Encarnación in 2019.
What techniques and methods are used?
Review of medical records, exploration and evaluation of patients exhibiting symptoms belonging to COPD. For the statistical analysis of the data collected Epidat 4.1 software will be used and for the realization of graphics Microsoft Excel 2016

What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a poster
- The student will prepare a presentation
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
