[Monastir]Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) in uveitis
Tunisia (ASSOCIA-MED) - University of Monastir/Faculty of Medecine of Monastir, Monastir
Department of Ophthalmology, Fattouma Bourguiba University Hospital, Monastir, Tunisia.
Professor Moncef Khirallah
Dr. Sana Khochtali
English, French, Arabic
Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project without Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
Data on Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) in ocular inflammatory diseases are scarce. OCTA is a newly developed, dye-less, imaging method that provides three-dimensional mapping of the retinal and choroidal microvasculature. It has already shown itself to be clinically useful in evaluating foveal microvascular changes in many retinal vascular diseases.
What is the aim of the project?
To describe findings of OCTA in uveitis, and particularly retinal vasculitis and choroidal inflammatory diseases.
What techniques and methods are used?
-Ophthalmological examination -Optical Coherence Tomography -Fluorescein angiography -Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA)
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
-Data collection -Assisting while examination -Data Analaysis
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Ophtalmological Examination Retinal Anatomy Subjects passed : Anatomy, Ophtalmology.
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
Type of students accepted
