What is the background of the project?
Description: We will introduce the traditional medicine and separate it into three parts. Firstly, we will show the students “natural product chemistry” to let the students know how the new drug development and study traditional medicine using modern ways. Secondly, we will introduce students to learn “pharmacology and molecular biology” to let them know the pharmaceutical development. Finally, we will show them the TCM clinics of KMU to let them know how TCM doctors practice to patients.
What is the aim of the project?
Aim: To guide the students about the modern research in traditional medicine. To inspire the students interest in natural medicine.
What techniques and methods are used?
Used techniques: Chemical separation, isolation, purification, and structural elucidation. Biotechs in bioassays. Observer in clinical practice.
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
The student is expected to prepare a poster.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
