Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project with Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement is useful noninvasive tool for evaluation of blood pressure status of the patients. Since arterial hypertension remains the silent risk factor for chronic kidney disease exact evaluation of blood pressure is crucial in these patients. However, the time when we can expect the improvement of blood pressure after the modification of antihypertensive drugs is still uncertain. Moreover, the impact of results of 24 hour ambulatory measurements on antihypertensive drug prescriptions at outpatient clinic is unknown also. The aim of the project is to determine the changes of drug prescription based on the results of 24 hour blood pressure measurements in patients with chronic kidney disease at outpatient clinic. Techniques used: history taking from the patients - clinical examination of the patients - determination of risk factors for arterial hypertension - evaluation of blood pressure preventive behavior of the patients - checking of medications - check for drug interaction - 24 hours ambulatory blood measurements
