Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project without Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
This is a descriptive project that gives us a different perspective of the Prostate Cancer treated in developed countries and emerging countries. Since there is a little information on this subject in our country in recent years there has been a marked increase in prostate cancer.
What is the aim of the project?
To determine the relationship between the curative treatment and the biochemical recurrence of Prostate CA in patients atttending the Los Olivos and Viedma Clinical Hospital.
What techniques and methods are used?
A prospective and longitudinal study will be carried out, which will include all patients who meet the inclusion criteria and who go to the Urology service at the Viedma and Olivos Hospital. With the information collected it is expected to have real data for our envirionment, as well as the particular characteristics of the Prostate CA presentation, the relationship that exits between the treatment and the biochemical residue, to finally be able to elaborate a protocol of attention, diagnosis and treatment, to be published and applied in services of first and second level of health care.

What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a scientific report
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
