What is the background of the project?
The Composite Asthma Severity Index (CASI) questionnaire is a validated tool in population for determining asthma control. However, it is not validated in the Spanish language in Spain. The objective of our study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the CASI questionnaire for assessing asthma control in children ages 4 to 15.
As said before the objective of our study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Spanish version of the CASI questionnaire for assessing asthma control in children ages 4 to 15.
Used techniques will be National, multicentre, prospective study to be conducted in Spain with asthmatic children and their caregivers. Patients will be assessed at 3 visits (Baseline, 2 Weeks, and 4 Months). Clinical variables will include: symptoms, exacerbations, FEV 1 , asthma classification, questionnaire scores, and asthma control as perceived by physicians, patients and caregivers. The CASI feasibility, validity, reliability, and sensitivity to change will be assessed. American adults
