Type of Research Project
- Basic science
What is the background of the project?
The project is to assess the effects of substances that interfere with the endocannabinoid system in the behavioral responses induced by drug abuse. To this end, experimental animals are used, which have their behavior in response to drugs studied in well- validated models. This project could lead to development of new treatments for addiction to certain drugs of abuse.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim is test the hypothesis that the endocannabinoid system may mediate the effects of drugs of abuse in experimental models.
What techniques and methods are used?
Behavioral studies in experimental animals employing drug injections and analyzing its effects by computer programs.
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Behavioral studies in experimental animals employing drug injections and analyzing its effects by computer programs.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
0
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
The student should have already passed for Biochemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology.
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
No
