Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project without Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
Drug-drug interaction presents modification of the effect of a drug when administered with another drug. The effect may be an increase or a decrease in the action of either substance, or it may be an adverse effect that is not normally associated with either drug. The particular interaction may be the result of a chemical or physical incompatibility of the two drugs or a change in the rate of absorption or the quantity absorbed in the body, the binding ability of either drug, or an alteration in the ability of receptor sites and cell membranes to bind either drug.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim is to establish incidence, nature and methods for prevention of drug-drug interactions
What techniques and methods are used?
-case studies -focus groups -case control studies
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
To collect data, make statistic calculations, write a paper.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
Yes, there will be preliminary reading and lesson.
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a scientific report
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Student must have listened or passed the exam in Pharmacology
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
