What techniques and methods are used?
Sample selection and processing, DNA extraction, processing and storing samples for future experiments, genotyping and sequencing techniques and patient Data collection and management.
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Participate in regular research task at the laboratory and be in contact with clinical reality. The student will be involved in the rutine of daily activity participating in different tasks depending on his/ her skills and attitude. The students should become familiar with laboratory techniques and with bioinformatic tools and online databases. He will get experience in handling and management of biological samples in a biobank.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
Yes
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare an abstract
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Any credit on Pediatrics and laboratory experience will be appreciated
