Type of Research Project
- Basic science
What is the background of the project?
Mouse model for the stroke is achieved by ischemic injury made by medial cerebral artery occlusion. The samples obtained from the brain samples after the stroke serve to analyze the consequences and repair after stroke.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the project is to analyze the consequences and repair after stroke in the mouse brain.
What techniques and methods are used?
Histology, immunohistochemistry, in vivo imaging of the mouse brain.
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
The histology and embryology course completed and exam passed. The wish to work with mouse material and support for laboratory animal research is essential.

It is expected that students can prepare poster with the results in 1 month time.
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
