Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project without Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
This study concerns different types of epileptic crisis ( feverish and non-feverish ) . Many of those crises are remaning without any clinical diagnosis ( idiopatic ) , so the study of the prevalence and exact neurological pathologies responsible of these crises will be a great income for development of therapeutic care in neuro-pediatric departments in Morocco
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the project is to describe different epileptic crisis, common among Moroccan children, as well as linking those crises to the exact responsible pathologies.
What techniques and methods are used?
Clinical Consultation, Prospective Analysis
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
The study will participate in the diagnosis of every case, collect the data, and analyse how the epileptic crises are connected to the responsible pathologies, to describe those crisis and compare them one to another, then to conclude how to prevent those crisis.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
: theoritical teaching will be provided (lecures on neurology / neuroanatomy and pathophysiology of epilepsy
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a presentation
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
We prefer students from the 5th, 6th or 7th grade .
The student need to have general knowledge about neurology and epilepsia .
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
No
