What is the background of the project?
The rate of mesenchimal cell tumors is increasing worldwide and despite advances in treatment, the survival rate of patients has not considerably changed over the last two decades. Dietary polyphenols can be employed to inhibit the growth of cancer cells.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the study is to determine whether different polyphenols can affect the proliferation and signaling transduction pathways of mesenchimal tumors cells.
What techniques and methods are used?

-Sulforhodamine B assay
-Western blotting
-Facs analysis
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
The student will learn the techniques used and after he/she will be able to carry out these techniques, he/she will be involved not only in the theoretical part of the project, but also in the experimental part.
The student will learn the techniques used and effects of polyphenols on cancer cells.

The outcome is dependent on the results of the project.
