What is the background of the project?
Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a condition that has been commonly related to insulin resistance and obesity. Due to a recent increase in obesity in countries in development, like Brazil, its incidence is increasing and so are the chances of leading to cirrhosis. Therefore recognizing the early signs plays a big part on preventing permanent liver damage.
