What is the background of the project?
Glioblastoma is most common type of malignant primary brain tumor. Surgery is impossible to removal all of tumor tissue which extends into normal tissue. Radiation therapy slows down tumor proliferation, but does not cure tumor. Chemotherapy may be toxic to other organs in the body. So combinations of drugs are used to find the drugs for the treatment. This study provide anti-tumor candidate drug with validation of optimal naturo-mimetics which show potent anti-tumor activity for human glioblastoma. To investigate optimal naturo-mimetics with potent apoptic activity in human glioblastoma cell line. The following techniques are used for the project : 1) Reagent : naturo-mimetics (100 groups in library), TRAIL, 2) Cell : human glioblastoma cell-line, 3) Antitumor activity measurement : LDH assay, MTT assay
