What is the background of the project?
The cardiovascular chronic diseases represent the most serious health, economic, and social problem in current human medicine. Slovakia belongs to countries with the greatest mortality. In last years of current research was documented the narrow connection of key metabolic pathways between inflammatory and allergic diseases on cellular and molecular level. In connection with these knowledges is our research mainly focused on chronic diseases prevention by modulation of gastrointestinal ecosystem by using probiotic microorganisms and natural bioactive substances. Prevention of chronic diseases is performed by modulation of gastrointestinal ecosystem, its biological barriers and their defense mechanisms and metabolic processes of the host using probiotic microorganisms and bioactive substances of a natural origin. The aim of the project: 1. Investigation of selected probiotics and natural bioactive compounds and their effect on functional parameters of gastrointestinal system in vivo (animal models). 2. Application of selected probiotics and natural bioactive compounds in prevention and therapy of metabolic syndroms, allergic diseases and infections.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the project: 1. Investigation of selected probiotics and natural bioactive compounds and their effect on functional parameters of gastrointestinal system in vivo (animal models). 2. Application of selected probiotics and natural bioactive compounds in prevention and therapy of metabolic syndroms, allergic diseases and infections. 3. Implementation of obtained knowledges in education process of doctors, patients and public health. Used techniques: 1. Utilization in vitro and in vivo experiments (animal experimental models). Probiotics and bioactive compounds of natural origin will be applicated separately and with correlative combination toward preventive and therapeutic effects in term of impressiveness. 2. Establishment of analytical, biochemical, immunological, microbiological, morphological and molecular biology methods in study of modularatory effects. 3. Realization of clinical studies
