What is the background of the project?
To understand molecular mechanism of cation transport coupled with ATP hydrolysis by
P-type ATPases and to reveal mechanism of diseases caused by their defects.
_Techniques and methods used are those general in biochemistry (such as enzyme kinetics, enzymology, protein chemistry, fluorometry, mutations), and molecular biology
What is the role of the student and what is expected from him/her during the research exchange? What should be the outcome of the student
What is the aim of the project?
To understand molecular mechanism of cation transport coupled with ATP hydrolysis
What techniques and methods are used?
electrophysiology, basic molecular biology technique
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Depends on students level. Generally we work to understand molecular mechanism of cation transport coupled with ATP hydrolysis by P-type ATPases and to reveal mechanism of diseases caused by their defects. so, we expect students to understand principle of these mechanism.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a presentation
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Just basic knowledge in biochemistry, and laboratory practice experiences in university or college.
