What is the background of the project?
The aim of the project is to the occurrence and distribution of four different zoonotic viruses (hanta-, orthopox-, arena- and TBE viruses) in rodents from different areas of Europe (Switzerland, Sweden, Latvia, Finland).

The aim of the project is to the occurrence and distribution of four different zoonotic viruses (hanta-, orthopox-, arena- and TBE viruses) in rodents from different areas of Europe (Switzerland, Sweden, Latvia, Finland).
What techniques and methods are used?
The method of infection screening is indirect immunofluorescense assay (IFA) that is commonly used in human diagnostics of viral infections. The work conducted during the research exchange is a part of a wide research project, of which results will be published in a peer-reviewed journal.
