What is the background of the project?
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of this research is to culture in three-dimension (3D) vascular cells (endothelial, smooth muscle, and fibroblast) on collagen-based scaffolds, and to organize their growth under mechanical stresses in a specific bioreactor.
What techniques and methods are used?
3D cell culture and in vitro (histo-chemical, histological, mechanical and chemical) tests are currently used to develop the tissue and to characterize the regenerated tissues.
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
- The tasks of the student will be performed on his/her own
- The tasks will be done under supervision
