What is the background of the project?
Hypoxia, nutrient deprivation and inflammation that are frequently observed in tumor microenvironment are known to influence tumor cell growth, survival, stemness, angiogenesis, invasion and metastasis.
What is the aim of the project?
We aim to reveal the molecular mechanisms underlying these biological phenomena and eventually develop strategies to inhibit metastasis.
What techniques and methods are used?
A wide variety of experimental techniques relating to cell culture, cell death (necrosis, apoptosis and autophagy), protein chemistry, molecular biology, immunology and laboratory animal study will be used in this study.
What is the role of the student?
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
