What is the background of the project?
In mammalian cells, efficient delivery of newly synthesized lysosomal enzymes is carried out by the mannose 6-phosphate receptors, which are intracellularly cycling between the trans-Golgi network, endosomes and plasma membrane.
What is the aim of the project?
In this project, to understand the precise itineraries of this receptors and kinetics of clathrin adaptor molecules that regulate the receptor trafficking, we will tag some of the key proteins with green fluorescent proteins or its variants. They will be expressed in culture cells and observed by video microscopy or immuno-electron microscopy.

- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
- The tasks of the student will be performed on his/her own

What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Students are expected to conduct some of the experiments that will be planned in this laboratory, discuss several scientists in this University, and make a report on the study. Excellent works will be considered for publication in scientific journals.
