What is the background of the project?
The aim of this work is to reveal Wnt patterning in early embrionyc thymus development. Wnt molecules are centrally important in the formation of the thymus.
From epithelial precursors differentiation of cortical and medullary epithelium occurs under the influence of Wnt-s and growth factors (FGF, IGF and EGF). The cortex and medulla is essential in the regulation of t-cell development. the project relies on immunohistology, flow cytometry, PCR and reaggregate thymic organ cultures.
