What is the background of the project?
The aim of this work is to reveal the formation (kinetics and composition) of mesenchymal domains of the peripheral lymphoid organs in mice,and to investigate the role of lymphoid cells in the regional specification of various stromal elements (fibroblasts, follicular dendritis cells, macrophages etc.) as identified through their phenotypic alterations and localization pattern. The project relies on immunohistochemistry and multicolor immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and the use of mouse strains with various targeted mutations affecting the stromal development of lymphoid tissues.
