What is the background of the project?
Our research is focused on precancerous lesions and cancer in different body sites, foremost head&neck squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, cervical, prostatic and colorectal carcinoma. The studies are performed on tissue samples obtained at biopsies and surgical resections, and include traditional light microscopy, immunohistochemical analyses, and molecular techniques. Our main topics are: diagnostic and prognostic criteria with new molecular biomarkers and potential new molecular therapeutic targets.
