Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project with Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
During RE for students will be provided seminars: main topics of seminars will be Lung function testing, Basics of aeroionotherapy, which include speleotherapy, climatotherapy, inhalation therapy, inhalation of ionised oxygen, etc.
What is the aim of the project?
Main aim of the project is evaluation of aeroionotherapy on lung function in patient with bronchial asthma, occupational intersticial lung diseases, chronic bronchitis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
What techniques and methods are used?
In the project will be used few kind of inhalation techniques (f.e. inhalation provided by jet and other kind of nebulisers), inhalation provided in slovak caves (Jasov cave, Harmanec cave or Demenovska cave), inhalation techniques of ionised oxygen (negative ions, or positive ions, or mixture of ions). Every inhalation technique will be followed by measuring of lung function by spirometry with pneumotachograph, by bodypletyzmography (measurement of airway resistance sRaw, airway conductance sGaw and measurement of lung residual volumes RV, TGV etc.), measurement of airway resistance by oscilometric technique.
What is the role of the student?
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
participation on seminars, will to work in a laboratory
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
physiology and patophysiology of lung, clinical investigations and measurement of lung parameters, auscultation and percusion
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
