What is the background of the project?
To find disease-associated signaling systems using unique primary cell cultures established from various tissues derived from patients.
What is the aim of the project?
To find disease-associated signaling systems using unique primary cell cultures established from various tissues derived from patients.

You may learn how to isolate primary cell cultures from tissues derived from patients and analyze signaling pathways using these cells.
What techniques and methods are used?
We usually use a microarray system, in addition to conventional biochemical, histochemical and blotting techniques.
What is the role of the student?
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
You may learn how to isolate primary cell cultures from tissues derived from patients and analyze signaling pathways using these cells.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
Yes
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a presentation
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
No special skills are needed. Basic biochemistry and signaling knowledge is required
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
No
