Type of Research Project
- Basic science
What is the background of the project?
Revision and morphologic diagnosis is realized from the abort products received, filling up the findings in each product file. In fetuses with external normal characteristics the development of the respiratory system is studied. Then it proceeds to analyze the intern ear in order to study its development and the otic capsule ossification. In the toraccic cavity morphologic characteristics of the lungs and hearth and vessels are studied. In the abdominal cavity we analyze the different planes to review the content with special interest in the genitourinary aparatous, findings are written in the respective file and literature is revisited with the aim of publish the discoveries
What is the aim of the project?
Analysis of the cardiac septation in human fetuses.
What techniques and methods are used?
Dissection and micro dissection of the thoracic organs.
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
Prepare presentations for the meetings. Practice dissection and micro dissection on his/her own under supervision.
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
Yes, weekly preliminary readings and seminars
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a presentation
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Basic embryology knowledge
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
