What is the background of the project?
The aim of the project is to evaluate the efficacy of chemical necrectomy in burns. The method is largely unknown and performed extensively in our department with good clinical results for many years. The evaluation will consist of retrospective clinical study dealing with epidemiology and clinical results of chemical necrectomies performed in 2001 through 2003. The prospective clinical study will consist of clinical, histological and toxicological evaluation of patients being just necrectomised using 40% benzoic acid.
