Type of Research Project
- Basic science
What is the background of the project?
Progeny generated by stem cells (ES or neural stem cells) in vitro will be identified with the use of immunocytochemical methods. Cells will be grown under standard conditions or in co-culture with other cell types.
What is the aim of the project?
To characterize the influence of microenvironment on developmental potential of stem cells
What techniques and methods are used?
cell culture, immunohistochemistry, light microscopy, transmission electron microscopy
What is the role of the student?
- The tasks of the student will be performed on his/her own
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
To obtain practical experience in laboratory methods
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- No specific outcome is expected
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Knowledge in basic histology, cell biology, and neurobiology. Basic skill in laboratory practice.
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
