What is the background of the project?
Purpose: To study the cell surface appearance of some adhesion receptors involved in neutrophil emigration from blood vessels in acute stress response.
Description of research: In an acute stress model, neutrophils are treated with epinephrine; adhesion receptors of the neutrophil plasma membrane are detected by indirect immunreactions using flow cytometer. Studies are focusing on the adhesion receptors which participate in neutrophil-endothel interaction (e.g. L-selectin) and in neutrophil transmigration through the basement membrane (e.g. laminin receptors).
What is the aim of the project?
To study the cell surface appearance of some adhesion receptors involved in neutrophil emigration from blood vessels in acute stress response.
