Modern treatment of acute coronary syndromes with or without ST-elevation
Bulgaria (AMSB) - Medical University of Sofia, Sofia
ISUL Carica Joanna
Prof. Najdenka Zlatarova
Type of Research Project
- Clinical Project without Laboratory work
What is the background of the project?
The aim of the project is to introduce to the foreign students the modern angiografic methods for diagnostics and treatment of acute coronary syndromes and interventional cardiology. Study on the rate of occlusion in different branches of coronary vessels during the one month period.
What is the aim of the project?
The aim of the project is to introduce to the foreign students the modern angiografic methods for diagnostics and treatment of acute coronary syndromes and interventional cardiology
What techniques and methods are used?
Among those with ST elevation on the ECG, an ACS is diagnosed by the presence of a clinical syndrome of acute ischaemia with either rest pain or a crescendo pattern of ischaemic pain on minimal exertion, plus electrocardiographic and/or marker evidence of acute ischaemic injury. The predictive accuracy of ST elevation for a final diagnosis of MI is very high, but for non-ST elevation MI, less than 50% are suspected as infarction on initial presentation.
What is the role of the student?
- The student will mainly observe
- The student will observe the practical experiments but will be highly involved in the analysis of the results
- The tasks will be done under supervision
What are the tasks expected to be accomplished by the student?
To perform clinical examination and ECG.To compile the current data provided
Will there be any theoretical teaching provided (preliminary readings, lectures, courses, seminars etc)
Yes please contact the LORE
What is expected from the student at the end of the research exchange? What will be the general outcome of the student?
- The student will prepare a poster
What skills are required of the student? Is there any special knowledge or a certain level of studies needed?
Basic knowledge in cardiology.
Are there any legal limitations in the student’s involvement
