Social Program
Official Social Program (including the National Social Program) is organised in the summer months (July and August). We organise two big weekend trips and one day trip around Slovenia as well as numerous afternoon activities during the week. In other months there is a social program on a smaller scale, depending on the number of the incomings and their interests. All exchange students are usually placed together what brings many advantages to the social life. We are also including different sports and cultural activities, food and music festivals, sightseeing tours, national dinners and of course many parties in the social program of every month of the year! We will provide you with amazing contact persons who are all local medical students from Slovenia that are going to be there to organise the best activites that will connect the whole group of incomings and make your exchange unforgettable.

Special Remarks
Application Form
Deadline
16 WEEKS
Special Remarks
Deadline for Application Form and the documents is March Meeting for exchanges in July, August and September.
Deadline for Application Form for other months is 16 weeks before the planned start of the exchange.

Full month only (i.e. 1.-31. July) - we can't accept the students outside of full month!

Incoming student must choose desired projects from both of our Universities (Ljubljana & Maribor) in the Application Form. It is not allowed to choose 3 projects from the same University and AF's that don't match this rule will be sent back. The places available in both Universities are limited, so we can't always place you in the desired city, especially in busy months.

Motivation Letters should be formal, project-specific and addressed to the Tutor of the desired project (Professor or Doctor, names are not required) and not to our NMO, NORE or LOREs. They should include your relevant Medicine and Research-related experience, level/year of studies, your previous experience with the specific field you are applying for and motivation to work on the project or in their department, as they will be used to arrange your clerkship.

Motivation Letters, CV and level of studies will be the main criteria used for the distribution of available research projects. We advise all incoming students to put effort into these documents and to write them in a professional way since they will decide which project the student will get in the end.

All standard documents must be uploaded before sending the application form (AF). If documents are missing or are not of a sufficient quality, AF will be sent back.

Special documents
Upon Arrival documents
The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”

Special remarks
SloMSIC Slovenia reserves the right to change the project after the CA has been confirmed due to unexpected changes in capacities of projects or availability of tutors. In case of a change of project the incoming student will be notified as soon as possible over email.

Special remarks
Card of Confirmation must be sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the clerkship, otherwise the clerkship will be cancelled.
Visa
Visa
- Tourist Visa
NMO can provide additional documents if needed
Yes
NMO must be notified 12 weeks before exchange start if additional documents are needed
Special remarks
Majority of students will not need a visa for the exchange in Slovenia. Check if you need a visa for Slovenia on this page: http://www.mzz.gov.si/en/representations_abroad/

In case that you require a Visa you have to apply for a uniform (type C) visa. Tourist visa is usually easiest to obtain.

Please make sure to notify us in advance if you need any special documents for your visa! We can provide Invitation letters and other documents if required. Requests for additional documents (including Letters of Guarantee) should be sent at least 12 weeks before the start of clerkship. And apply for your visa as soon as you receive your Card of Acceptance - failing to do so decreases the probability of obtaining a visa in time.

Please be aware that some of the students who are not from EU/EFTA countries will need a Letter of Guarantee in order to obtain a visa. Please make sure to send your AF as soon as possible and request the LG from us, so that it will be prepared for you in time. Failing to do so decreases the probability of obtaining a visa in time.

Insurance
Insurance
- Health Insurance
- Liability Insurance

Special remarks

As an NMO, we require:

Health insurance, which must be arranged by the student, at his/her home country. It must be sent with the AF. Your clerkship will be cancelled if this requirement is not fulfilled.

Personal liability insurance, which is needed in ALL LCs.
You are required to send it only after you receive your CA. This insurance can be obtained in Slovenia, yet we urge you to arrange it in your home country, because its price here is around 70 euros.

Personal Liability insurance: If you cause an accident and someone is injured or if you damage someone's property, you are responsible for paying all the costs of the accident, if you are not insured. You might, for example, break something in the dorms or on a more serious note, might cause an accidental fire, water damage, etc.

Don't mix this up with Malpractice Insurance (that relates to the patients).
As an NMO, we do not ask for Malpractice Insurance or Travel Insurance.

NOREs and LOREs of both countries should be informed about that.

In case of a late cancellation we might not be able to accept the substitution.
