Boarding and Lodging:
More information about the boarding and lodging conditions in each LC can be found in the respective Explore Pages.
The lodging offered is exclusive for the incoming (We do not offer lodging for partners/friends).Upon Arrival Training (UAT)
Most LCs organise UATs in July, August, September and March. Although it is not mandatory, we highly recommend every student to attend it.
The UAT serves as means of integrating the incoming students into the hosting country - the incomings are provided with information about the language, social norms, security tips or healthcare and education systems, as well as team building activities.COVID 19 Special Remarks:
- In light of current policies of our government, students coming from countries with > 500 cases per 100000 habitants must comply with a prophylactic isolation period of 14 days, in a place indicated by the health authorities, after entering mainland Portugal. You can check if your country is in this list in this website: https://www.visitportugal.com/en/content/covid-19-measures-implemented-portugal. These students must register with SEF - Foreigners and Borders Service before entering the country at https://travel.sef.pt. The extra expense related with the quarantine must be assured by the student. Ideally the student must arrive 14 days to 1 week before the start of the clerkship, as, in most cases, it won’t be possible to prolong the exchange;
All exchange students must be fully equipped with FPP2 masks and other protective gear and agree to support any expenses related to COVID-19 protective gear and testing. However, ANEM-Portugal will be working toward reducing these expenses and providing material free of charge;
All exchange students must be aware of information related to international travels and public health. National Health Service website: https://covid19.min-saude.pt/
All exchange students must be aware of ANEM-Portugal’s Contingency Plan and Letter for Incomings (which will be shared with the Manual on Exchanges), and accept that in case of a positive test, COVID-19 symptoms or a close-contact with someone COVID-19 positive, a 14-day quarantine might be necessary. Any extra expense related to the quarantine, must be assured by the student.
In case the student is quarantined during his/her clerkship, prolonging the exchange won’t be an option and to receive the certificate, the student must attend at least 80% of his/her exchange.
Depending on the LC, exchange students might be required to be tested regularly for the duration of their exchange. The extra expense related with the testing must be assured by the student, although ANEM-Portugal is working towards reducing these expenses.
All exchange students must present a negative PCR test for SARS-COV2 with a maximum of 72 hours since the test prior to their arrival and start of their clerkship.
All exchange students must sign the Responsibility Agreement drafted for ANEM-Portugal Exchanges and attach it to their Card of Documents in “Other” before the start of their exchange;
COVID Vaccination is not mandatory but it is highly recommended, the vaccination document should be uploaded to the Card of Documents in the slot “Vaccination Card” (you should merge the file of the Vaccination Card with the COVID-Vaccination proof) or sent directly to the LEO/LORE. Since the vaccination is only recommended, not mandatory, any brand of vaccine is accepted and both incoming students with full vaccination or only with the 1st dose are as well.
