Spanish:

  • For native Spanish speakers there is not necessary of any language certificate.
  • For non native Spanish speakers: it is NECESSARY a Spanish Language Certificate. Level DELE A2 or silimar as minimum and must be delivered 1 month before of the exchange at maximum. This is due to all activities in the majority of departments are done in Spanish, so the lack of the required level of Spanish will cause a poor Academic Quality of the clerkship for your students.

Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Required level of studies
Student must have started at least one clinical course.

Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is sent.
Clerkship Duration
4 weeks, 6 hours a day, 5 days per week

Academic Quality
In order to get the certificate you will be asked to: attend 80% of the clerkship, fill in the handbook (provided by your Local Exchange Officers) and fill in the Evaluation Form (online). Also we give to our students an UAT (Upon Arrival Training) in order to improve their experience during the exchange.
Nightshifts
No
Special Remarks
  • Clerkships start the first Monday and end the last Friday of each month. 
  • Some students could be invited to attend a nightshift, but it is NOT MANDATORY.
  • The incoming student can replace workdays for nightshifts or weekends to recover absent days, previously coordinated with the LEO.
  • Some LCs require a special dress code for hospitals (shirts, shoes, ties, etc); so please, ask the LEO about this topic before arriving.

Cities Remarks

In your three options, you can choose 2 times the same city, for example:
First city: Peru (IFMSA Peru) - Lima (IFMSA UPCH)
Second city:Peru (IFMSA Peru) - Lima (SCSF)
Third city: Peru (IFMSA Peru) - AREQUIPA (CIEM)

If you choose the same city for your three options, your Application Form will be rejected.

Puno IFMSA UANCV will be available soon. 

You must take in count that we always try, but we cannot guarantee 100% to place you in your desired city during January, July and August.

We have Social Program available for all months at local level. Adicionally we organize Social Program at national level on January, February, July August and December.
Information will be given by our LEOs, it will vary from one Lc to another and the month you are coming for your exchange.

-PLEASE APPLY FOR TOURIST VISA. If you apply for any other kind of visa, we do not take any responsibility and we won't be able to solve any problem with the embassy.
-We can provide Invitation letters and other documents if required.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”
Immunization requirements
We only request immunization for Hepatitis B (most of LCs), other requests are mentioned in the Explore Pages of some LCs.

Insurance
As NMO we require Health Insurance however, this insurance CANNOT be arranged in our country, and should be arranged in your home country. 
As NMO we do not ask for liability insurance thus the exchange student is not required to be insured for liability insurance, the liability insurance should be arranged in your home country if wanted, we do not have this type of insurance in our country.
As NMO we do not ask for Travel Insurance thus the exchange student is not required to be insured for  Travel Insurace. However, the exchangee could get that type of insurance through: http://www.pacificoseguros.com/site/Personas/Viajes.aspx
As NMO we do not ask for Malpractice Insurance thus the exchange student is not required to be insured for Malpractice Insurance, the Malpractice Insurance should be arranged in your home country if wanted, we do not have this type of insurance in our country
