IT VARIES DEPENDING ON THE TUTOR You will be presented to the Head of the Service who will you assign you a Tutor ("Preceptor"). All exchange students will be in the clerkship with Panamanians students and the tutor will demand the same as the Panamanian students - All procedures you might perform must be under the supervision of your Tutor. Night Shifts are NOT MANDATORY, but if you want to do night shifts you can ask your tutor.
You can't apply for Panama City the three times, you should include Chiriqui in your options.
ALL THE EXCHANGES LAST 4 WEEKS, YOU BEGIN THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH AND FINISH THE LAST FRIDAY OF THAT MONTH. (If you want to send to your student in the middle of a month, please email us first) In some months, we may start the second Monday of the month, but don't worry, you will know in your CA.
If any student is accepted in the middle of the week, we will explain the reason. WAIT FOR YOUR CARD OF ACCEPTANCE BEFORE MAKING EXTRACURRICULAR PLANS! Please don't send your student in the middle of the week :) Panamanian carnivals vary each year (somewhat between february and march), so it will depend on the year whether we will be available to accept incomings or not because of the free days. In November and December, we have Panamanian festivities so we have many free days.

NATIONAL SOCIAL PROGRAM MONTHS: JANUARY, JULY AND AUGUST Each student has to pay for every activity and the social program is OPTIONAL We offer incredible activities that include not only gastronomic and cultural experiences but we also adventure in the nightlife! We usually offer San Blas trips, Chiriqui tours, Panama Canal, Goodbye china, and more.

TO BE PAID IN PANAMA THE FIRST DAY OR WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF THE EXCHANGE.
Many of our incomings don't need a visa for Panama, but if you do need a Visa and your country does not have Panamanian Consulate in, PLEASE contact us immediately. We can provide Invitation letters and other documents if required. Please inform us at the moment you sent the AF. If it is necessary, you should apply for a TOURIST VISA. Please ask your Airline Company/Travel Agency.
The AF MUST be sent at least 4 months in advance. Otherwise, we do not guarantee placement for the student. All documents must be sent with the AF. See the list below on "Digital documents required". You must bring one (1) ID-sized photo, copy of passport, and vaccination card to submit at the Teaching Department on the first day of your clerkship. In order to accept your Application Form, it is compulsory to send a SCANNED copy (PDF FORMAT) of the following documents through the database (as attached documents to your Application Form): 1. Health and Travel Insurance for the period of Clerkship 2. Passport (the page with your name and photo) 3. Recommendation letter SIGNED and STAMPED by the DEAN OF YOUR MED. FACULTY. Must be in English or Spanish. 4. Academic Record from the School Authority SIGNED and STAMPED (to confirm that the student has passed the required courses in his/her Medical School, the student’s record must have each signature of the module or year coursed detailed in the document in order to get a successful approval) it must be IN SPANISH OR IN ENGLISH ***********THE STUDENT MUST HAVE APPROVED THE SUBJECT WHEN SENDING THE AF********** 5. A motivation letter addressed to:DRA. ORIS LAM DE CALVODECANA DE LA FACULTAD DE MEDICINAUNIVERSIDAD DE PANAMA. Must be in English or Spanish. 6. Immunization records or Vaccine card with the proper vaccination for HBV, MMR, DPT. 7. Curriculum Vitae 8. Proof of Spanish or English Language Proficiency (for non-native Spanish speakers). 9. Approved Subject Card of Certification WE DONT ACCEPT PRE-CLINICAL STUDENTS
HepB, HepA, Influenza, Neumococo, Tdap, MMR.As for the pandemic, it is required that ALL incomings must be vaccinated against COVID-19. The immunization record must include Covid-19 vaccine.
Health Insurance: IS MANDATORY AND MUST BE SENT WITH THE AF. Please make sure you purchase an International Health Insurance which covers expenses in Panama. A hard copy of the Health Insurance will be asked on the first day of the rotation. We don't take responsibility for the student who doesn't have a health insurance As NMO we don't ask for travel, liability, and malpractice insurance, however, the exchange could get those types of insurance.
Your Card of Documents has to be completed at the moment you send the Application Form. The documents have to be in Spanish or English. We don't accept another language Please upload 4 different letters of motivation. We need them to place you in the most suitable department, so please take some time to write to them, it's important IFMSA- Panama accepts graduate students, up to 6 months after graduation and only if they are still in college when sending the AF

Substitute student’s documents should be sent to Incoming NEO Substitutions must be the same gender, period, and department. We must be notified of the replacement student at least 8 weeks before the clerkship starts. The student must provide as well all of the required documents
