Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Required level of studies
The student is expected to have accomplished the 3rd year of studies by the beginning of the exchange (in the 5 years or longer study cycle). If the student follows the 4 years study cycle, it is enough if he/she has successfully completed the 1st year of the medical studies.

Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is sent.

Academic Quality
HuMSIRC has implemented Academic Quality within its exchanges. Students are encouraged and expected to fill out the logbook (Student's Handbook) of their own NMO. If students do not have a logbook we will provide a digital copy of our own version and expect students to complete it in order to gain their end of exchange certificate.

To obtain the SCOPE certificate:

  • At least 80% attendance IS REQUIRED.
  • Logbook MUST be completely filled in at the end of the clerkship.
  • IFMSA Evaluation Form MUST be filled in by the end of the clerkship

- The majority of our LC's is providing an Upon Arrival Training during summer months (July and August).

The incomings have a possibility to participate in educational activities. The opportunities vary between the LCs and may include surgical skills workshops, BLS and ALS trainings, electrocardiography crash course and MedQuiz

 ATTENTION

 - Placement in the desired field is not always possible, so make sure you fill out the 4 OPTIONS. If you fill out one choice only, this DOES NOT mean that you will be placed in that department, but that you AGREE to any department if the department you choose is not available.
- The capacity of the LCs and hospitals are limited. Each LEO is trying hard to place the students in one of their marked department, but it might ot be possible always.

Students are not allowed to select more than 2 surgery departments in their AFs! (If Szeged is among the student's desired cities, it's possible to select 4 surgery departments. In this case the student has to write the extra 1 or 2 surgery departments in the "Special Notes from the Sudent" part of the AF.

We offer a wide range of social programs at our local organizations during summer months (July and August). Colourful social programs, cultural programs, parties, excursions are organized on weekdays and on weekends as well. 
In other months it depends on the hosting LC.

Payment details for unilateral fee
The unilateral fee must be exchanged upon arrival and paid in cash. In case of cancellation, the sending NMO is obliged to reimburse all the non-returnable expenses we made in order to accommodate the student.

Special Remarks
The student must choose three different  cities in prefered order when applying for an exchanges. AF might be sent back for correction if the student fails this criteria.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”
Immunization requirements

You must send the Vaccination Card with the AF. You can find and download the document from the link you find below.

- All students have to be vaccinated against polio, tetanus/diphtheria, pertussis, hepatitis B, measles, mumps and rubella

- All students need to attach the proof of immunity against tuberculosis. There are 3 combinations which will be accepted as a proof of immunity:
  • the Mantoux test result
  • the proof of BCG vaccination + X-ray result
  • the proof of BCG vaccination + Quantiferon result
The results of the tests cannot be older than 6 months.
 

Insurance
As HuMSIRC we only require health insurance however, this insurance CANNOT be arranged in our country, and should be arranged in your home country.
(Health insurance: It covers expenses linked to health issues (if you have to see a doctor and buy drugs on prescription))
