Clinical clerkship only, preclinical students are not accepted. It is compulsory that you have finished at least two of the subjects that you choose as your departments.
All the doctors and supervisors have been notified about the conditions in the handbook and it follows Estonian medical education guidelines quite well. All incoming students will have an exchange 'that is similar to the clinical study experience of an Estonian medical student.
To get the certificate each student has to fill out their SCOPE Handbook and the EstMSA Summer Exchange Attendance sheet. Hospital attendance required: 100%. You may take 20% off, if you reach a prior agreement with your supervising doctor. Each student has to attend at least 80% of the exchange to get the certificate.
Social program consists of various parties (National Food and Drink party, Goodbye party, etc) and different trips in Estonia and to neighbouring countries (Finland, Latvia, etc).
Should you require a visa, please apply for a tourist visa. Student visas are not allowed.
Nationals of the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) and any third-country national holding a residence permit of a Schengen State do not need a visa to enter Estonia.
The citizens of the non-Schengen member countries are requested a mandatory Schengen Visa in order to enter the Schengen Zone. However, there are exceptions to this rule: there are some countries that are not part of the Schengen Agreement, but do not require a visa to enter the Schengen zone.
With the AF we require your immunization records: Hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough (pertussis), Haemophilus influenzae B, measles, mumps, rubella. (Known as the childhood vaccinations in most countries).
As an NMO we require health insurance (EU health insurance) and travel insurance, however these cannot be obtained in our country and must be obtained in your home country. Malpractice insurance is not required and cannot be obtained in our country. Should you wish to obtain malpractice insurance, you must do so in your home country or do it via IFMSA homepage. We apologize if this causes any inconvenience to you!
Instead of pocket money, we offer a meal card for workday lunches. In cases of special diets (Halal, vegan) we cannot ensure that the lunches will be to your expectations and instead, we can arrange pocket money of 70 eur, but only if it has been agreed on at least 2 months before the exchange.
