LCs Available: Contracts with your NMO may have been signed for specific criteria. Inquire with your NEO to clarify which city you are eligible for before selecting any city in your application form. There is a tier system in Canada. You may only choose certain cities a limited number of times in your application form. The reason for the tier system is that some cities have limited spots, while other cities have many more. It is not a reflection of the quality of the medical education nor social program. The level of medical education at our universities and hospitals are equal. As well, each city provides unique cultures and events that may not be found in other cities. Please review the availability and language criteria for each city.
Travel: Please note, Canada is vast. Transportation across the country takes over a week by train (and is extremely expensive). Therefore, we strongly encourage students to fly into the City they are working in. For Ontario programs (London, Kingston, Hamilton, North Bay, Ottawa), we suggest flying into Toronto, and traveling by plane, bus, or train to the city. It can take several hours to get from Toronto to these cities by bus, please plan accordingly.
