All exchange students are required to speak some Spanish. Patients only speak Spanish and only some doctors speak English.
Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Required level of studies
We prefer incomings who are already in their clerkship programs.

Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is sent.

Academic Quality
We highly recommend the use of a Logbook.

For SCORE exchanges a laptop or tablet, Logbook are highly recommended.

Formal clothes may not be required in some rotations, but do note that some events during the rotation might require a formal outfit.

For SCORE exchanges business casual attire or scrub may be required as directed by the project tutor.

We only accept students from January to November. We do not accept students in December. The duration of the exchange can be adjusted depending on the specialty requested (contact NEO for more information).

ODEM or any person, hosting hospitals, dorms, social program organizers, operators & hosts, etc. are not responsible in any way for the health and safety of the exchange student.

The exchangee is responsible for the damage or misuse of materials, rooms or any other item that is lent during his/her stay and practice. The exchangee will pay for any damage accordingly.

The payment should be done before arriving to the country. In case it is not possible please contact to the NEO/NORE.
Visa requirements
If a visa is required we guarantee an INVITATION LETTER. Other required documents will depend on a previous agreement with the LEO/NEO.

Please note that since the clerkship is for a month a tourist card may be used (if it applies), the tourist card is only available for 30 days.

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”

Insurance
Health insurance is MANDATORY. It cannot be arranged in our country. Students need to arrange them in their own country.
We don't ask for Travel Insurance. If the students still want this insurance, they have to arrange them in their own country. This cannot be arranged in our country.

We only request Malpractice Insurance for medical students requesting Surgery clerkships.

Recommendation Letter is only required for SCORE exchanges. 
Language certificate is only required for SCORE exchanges, however, spanish is required during the hospital rotation since patients only speak spanish and only some doctors speak english.
