Spanish speaking countries do not need language certificate.
IMPORTANT! For spanish you must have level B1, it is indispensable for communication in Argentina. If you do not have the certificate we cannot accept you. (*Spanish speaking countries do not need this step).


Therefore, we reserve the right to arrange a Skype call with students before the CA is sent.
Clerkship Type
- Clinical Clerkship
A clinical clerkship is defined as the rotation of a student in a clinical department of a hospital or clinic, such as Dermatology and Pediatrics.

Even if accepted by the hosting country, students must be still enrolled in university by the time the Application Form is sent.

Incomings are requested to bring with them their logbook. White coat and scrub is mandatory.

Special Remarks
Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) about 5-8 hours per day. It depends on the hospital and department the student is applying to. nightshifts also depend on the schedule set by each institution.
The student should bring the Academic Quality Kit (Logbook) that MUST be completed and signed by the Tutor at the end of the clerkship in order to get the Certificate. Students must complete at least 80% of the requested hours.

Clerkship are 4 weeks and during Calendar months only - NO exceptions! They start on the Monday closest to the 1th of the month (please note that this can also mean the last days of the previous month), and ends on the Friday of the fourth week.

Special Remarks
POCKET MONEY
Only if you stay in flats exclusively rented for IFMSA exchanges and if the hospital does not give them food.

BOARD & LODGING
Lodging: The student will stay with a Host Family, so the student will be part of his/her family. Student’s flat available too.
Boarding: One meal a day will be guaranteed (usually lunch or dinner) by the host family or hospital. For those staying in rented apartments they will get pocket money equivalent to one hot meal per day.

Social programs will be arranged by the Local and National Committee.

SPECIAL REMARKS

The student will have board and lodging only between the dates specified in the CA. If you want to arrive or leave a couple of days before/after your exchange please ask directly to your Host Family. Students staying in rented flats have to leave the last day of the month.
Change of Host Family is not allowed.

In order to get the certificate, the student must attend to the hospital an 80% of the 4 weeks and fill:

• Logbook

• Evaluation Form (EF) completed in www.ifmsa.org

• Clinical Case Report: this consists of filling out a template provided by their LEO in the third week of the exchange with information about a clinical case they saw during their practices, along with a brief description of how they would proceed with the diagnosis and treatment. This is 
mandatory to obtain the certificate.

If the student doesn't accomplish these requirements they won't get the certificate, please don't insist.

If the LC receives complains from the Hospital or the family regarding the student, the clerkship will be cancelled.

Disabilities:
Contact NEO in case of a disability and we will discuss within the Exchange group and with the hospital, if it is possible to accept a student with disabilities.

Couples:
Students applying in couples (of 2 people) will be placed in the same city, but we do not guarantee same department or accommodation. Students who apply in groups of three or more cannot be guaranteed clerkships in the same city

The standard documents are the basic documents that the students are asking for and the special documents are less important, as only some Local Committees ask for them. So it's mandatory to upload the standard documents, but not the special ones. (Students do it when asked for by the LEO/NEO.)
The upon arrival documents are hard copies documents that the students are requested to take with them in the host country.”

Insurance

Health insurance is Mandatory. 

We do not ask for Travel Insurance because this is the personal responsability of the incoming student, its his/her responsability.

We do not ask for Malpractice Insurance because in Argentina students cannot have this document. Only doctors can purchase this insurance.

All the following documents have to be brought upon arrival on original format: Health Insurance, HepB Antibodies count, Language certificate, Passport copy, Proof of Enrollment, Student record (Subjects passed), Vaccination card, TBC Vaccination (highly recommended).

We only accept Graduated Students up to 6 months of being graduated. They must be still enrolled to the University by the time the AF is sent.
