OVERVIEW

Gómez Palacio is a Mexican city located in the State of Durango, which, together with
the neighboring cities of Ciudad Lerdo (in Durango), Torreón and Matamoros (in
Coahuila), forms the Comarca Lagunera, which is the ninth largest metropolitan area.

MUST SEE

TheOjuela Bridgeor theMapimi Bridge (Puente de Ojuela, Spanish name) is a suspensión
bridge located in Mapimi in the mexican state of Durango at the site of the OjuelaGoldmine.

The Ojuela Bridge was designed by Wilhelm Hildenbran and built by the firm of John A.
Roebling Sons Company, New York. Completed in 1898 the bridge was restored as a tourist
attraction in 1991. It has a main span of 271.5 metres and the distance between the pylons is
315.5 metres. Currently this bridge is only used for pedestrians.

Parras de la Fuente is a Pueblo Mágico, designated in 2004. Parras is the best place to get relax. You can find one of
the best winery like Casa Madero, where yo will taste the best wine from Mexico.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The city features a desert climate. Rainfall is scarce but more prominent in the summer, whilst temperatures are very hot by day and cool at night, although the urban heat island effect causes temperatures on summer nights to be considerably warmer than nearby areas
