OVERVIEW

If we could describe our state in 3 words, those words will be “love to art”. Aguascalientes is home of great Mexican artisti like José Guadalupe posada, the man who gave life to “la Catrina” one of the most representative icons of the Mexican culture. Here you can find museums and theaters to churches and bullrings.

 

UNIVERSITY AND HOSPITALS
  • The Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes is the highest university in the state and one of the most important in the country. Speaking of the medical department, the university has a great national recognition for the excellence and preparation of its students, providing an opportunity each year to 150 students from the center of the republic to be part of the institution for their medical training, is located in the north of the city where it has ample space for the comfort of both foreign and local students.

The laboratories of the Universidad Autonoma de Aguacalientes have a team to carry out first line research, offering undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to carry out research in areas such as neurology, physiology, basic sciences, immunoligy and neurophysiology.

TRANSPORTATION

The public transport is usually very efficient; being a small city we do not have a metro service, only with a bus costing 7. 50 Mexican pesos and has about 50 lines throughout the city and also this small bus service that usually take you to towns near Aguascalientes have a cost of 10 Mexican pesos, also has the taxi service and Uber within the city having an approximate cost of 100 Mexican pesos to cross the city.

Being in Aguascalientes what you should not miss is the historical center of the city, the museum of Jose Guadalupe Posada located in the center of the city in the Encino neighborhood, the regional museum of Aguacalientes that has a great essence of our identity as a state also located in the center of the city, Aguascalientes also has three magical towns not to be missed, Calvillo located in the east of Aguacalientes, San Jose de Gracia famous for its zip lines and dams to the northeast of the state and Seats, site of cave paintings to the north of the city located 30, 45 and 60 minutes from Aguascalientes respectively. 

 

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Aguascalientes is a city a little extreme in the climate, during the winter the temperature can reach -2°C and during Spring and Summer it can reach 30-35°C, so depending on the month it is necessary to contact the LEO, LORE or CP in order to be better oriented. 

For the hospital it is necessary to wear white pants, shirt and shoes in addition to the gown, this is mandatory, in the case of students who go to the laboratory it is only necessary to wear a gown inside the laboratory.
