OVERVIEW

Zielona Gora (translation: Green Mountain) is one of the 2 capital cities in Lubusz Voivodeship which is located in western Poland. Almost half of the province is covered with trees. Zielona Gora has a rich, mixed Polish-Czech-Hungarian-German heritage, that survived during WWII, which you can see while walking through the Old Town.

What is this city famous for is that the finest wine in Poland is produced here. You can taste it during Local Wine Fest and meet local king of wine - Bachus, whose small figures are spread around the city - you can catch them all!. The second most popular entertainment is motorcycle speedway club named “Falubaz” which logo is inspired by Mickey Mouse.

SOCIAL PROGRAM
Zielona Góra is a brand new LC so our social program is still in constructions - but we will try as much as possible that you will leave our city with unforgettable memories and you won't get bored during the internship. We are planning to show you not only the city attractions but also other interesting things in Lubusz Voivodeship.

National Food & Drink Party
 - a typical integration reception which is about sharing traditional meals from our home countries. You will have an opportunity to taste some typical Polish dishes, such as dumplings (pierogi), sauerkraut with mushrooms (bigos), gingerbread (piernik) and cheesecake (sernik), as well as the meals prepared by exchange students from other countries

NICE Project (available in July and August) - a great way to discover different parts of Poland. On summer weekends you will have an opportunity to take part in trips to the most popular Polish cities. It’s a good occasion to visit the most beautiful monuments and buildings and learn about Polish history
The incomings have a possibility to participate in educational activities delivered within the scope of  Med-Ex. The opportunities vary between the LCs and may include surgical skills workshops, BLS and ALS trainings, ultrasonography and electrocardiography crash course, as well as dealing with real-life medical scenarios in simulation centres.
