Therefore Istanbul(and by the old name of Byzantium Empire, Constantinople) has affected by many cultures. Thanks to that, our culture has so much to discover. Istanbul has been the homeland for Ottoman Empire for many years. After the conquest of Constantinople, the war that ends Middle Age, and starts New Age, Constantinople was named to Istanbul. Istanbul now is the homeland over 3000 mosques, 200 churches and many other religious places.
Approximately 12 million tourist visits Istanbul in a year, world’s most popular 5th tourist destination. In 2014, Istanbul was given a name;”European Capital Of Culture”.
Topkapi Campus of Istanbul Biruni University is in the center of Istanbul. Our university was named by famous Turkish geographer, mathematician and astronomer; “Ebu Reyhan Muhammad bin Ahmed el-Biruni”. After his death, famous scientists such as Isaac Newton, ,Toricelli, Galileo was inspired by Biruni’s studies. In 1974, The UNESCO Courier journal made a special issue for Biruni. And mentioned him as ;”A thousand years ago, a universal genius lived in Central Asia.”
Istanbul Biruni University hospital is in Florya. Transportation between hospital and campus is easy and made by Metrobus.
You will stay in student apartment or dormitory or a host.
Transportation in Istanbul might be a little bit confusing. Nevertheless, it is easy to transport between hospital and campus. You will be provided an “Istanbul Card”. It is a ticket for every transportation vehicles. We will teach you how to use and refill the card. Furhter information will be given later.
