OVERVIEW
Ciudad Real is a city and municipality in the center of Spain, 186 km southeast of Madrid, the capital of the province of Ciudad Real in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. The municipality had a population of 74 054 people in 2016.
It´s not a touristic city, but there are plenty of students and it´s a very cheap city. Besides it´s next to lots of touristic parts of Spain like Toledo, Madrid and Andalucía.
UNIVERSITY AND HOSPITALS

Ciudad Real, University of UCLM, together with Albacete, has one of the main campuses of the University of Castilla la Mancha. It's estimated that between 9,000 and 10,000 students study at any of the schools that the regional university currently has in the city.
University General Hospital of Ciudad Real is a general hospital with approximately 600 beds.
People in SCORE would go to the Medical School where most of the research programs take place. On the other hand SCOPE people would go to the HGUCR that is the hospital in Ciudad Real.

In case you take a bus, you can buy the tickets at the bus station or book it online at: www.alsa.es. (It will be better to book it before)

There are direct buses from Madrid to Ciudad Real bus station.

SOCIAL PROGRAM

A true exchange programme is not complete without a social programme. The local committe will try to do its best to provide you with lots of different and interesting stuff to do, from cross-county sightseeing to some of the craziest dorm parties.  In the following, you will get some notes about the local programmes and the country tours.

MUST SEE
It is located in the interior of Spain, in the southern part of the Castile-La Mancha region. It is home to 101 different towns and villages and to protected natural areas like the Cabañeros and Tablas de Daimiel National Parks.

The territory is famous for its castles and for historical and architectural treasures such as Villanueva de los Infantes and Almagro. This last town is particularly well-known for its 17th-century Corral de Comedias theatre, which every year plays host to the International Classical Theatre Festival. Windmills are another of the symbols of Ciudad Real, as the province is the scene of the adventures of the famous knight Don Quixote of La Mancha in the famous work by Miguel de Cervantes. The local gastronomy reflects the fact that Ciudad Real is one of the areas on the La Mancha Wine Route, so this is an excellent opportunity to sample the wines from the Valdepeñas Designation of Origin.
