Izmir is a metropolitan city and it’s the third biggest city in Turkey. People are kind, friendly, energetic and hospitable. Because Izmir which is a harbor city located on Mediterranean coast.Also, there are a total of nine universities in and near Izmir. So both of that, makes Izmir more familiar to the tourists and exchange students. Our LC have young, dynamic, entertaining team.

Turkish people generally call İzmir as ‘Beautiful (Güzel) İzmir’. The pearl of the Aegean, known for its cheerful, smiling and hospitable people, is a large and important port in Turkey.

Located in the west of Turkey and on the Aegean shores, İzmir is the third largest city in Turkey. İzmir owes its position as an economically and socially dynamic city to its location, climate and the fact that it has been a home to many different cultures and religions.

Even if our university was founded in 2010, it shown very rapid growth. We have modern and technological university and rooted hospital.
Our hospital name is : Izmir Katip Celebi University Ataturk Education and Research Hospital.
It was found in 1851.  In 1982, it has moved to current location. Since these years, it has become bigger and more developed. It has a large capacity for in-patients with 1100 beds.  In addition to that, it has all the facilities. You have the chance to see many cases in operation and clinic.

There are 4 labs, succeeded projects and many professors.


One meal per day will be facilitated by us in our hospital. Besides that you can have your lunch at cafeteria which is in our hospital. In addition to that, our hospital is close to lots of small restaurants and cafes.

We have two local railroad transportation ; Izban and Metro (Subway). You can reach everywhere with them. 
While you’re going to hospital, you can use Metro, Izban and bus.
Also we have ferry, boat and tram.
We use city card for transportation that means for all transportation vehicles. 
IzmirimKart (city card) is for transportation in Izmir by busses, boat, tram, metro and Izban. After buying the card (10 TL), you should fill in some credit. You use these credits for transportation.

 *Izmir has a bus and minibus(It called also Dolmus) network. City buses (3 TL) run on the same prepay system as the metro. Minibuses cost nearly 2,50-3,00 TL. It's more useful for short distances.

*Izmir’s metro network currently has one line, from Evka-3 to Fahrettin Altay (included Konak). Metro runs from 6.15 and 23.59 daily. Single-journey tickets for the whole transport system cost 3 TL. Except for the metro, there is an another train network in Izmir, Izban. Izban has a long line from Aliaga to Cumaovasi. The most useful stations are Havaalani(Airport), Halkapinar(to transfer funds to Metro), Gaziemir, Karsiyaka and Hatundere(Foca).

*Ferries for: Bostanli, Karsiyaka, Bayrakli, Alsancak, Izmir, Pasaport, Izmir, Konak, Goztepe and Uckuyular. (3 TL)


We have a well-prepared social program for our incomings. In social program, the places which we talked about in must see part also included too. Besides that we can go local and out of town for see different places. If you want to be relaxed,you can hire a bike in city for riding along the seaside with a unique view. On the other hand, we can do NFDP( National Food and Drink Party).  


Clock Tower and Kemeralti Bazaar

It is one of the most important symbols of Izmir which is located in Konak square, the center of city. The beautiful clock tower is also very close to the sea shore so you can take really good pictures there.

And Kemeralti Bazaar is very close to clock tower. In there a lot of things suitable for present. You can find whatever you want.

Historical Elevator

It’s purpose of construction is making the transportation comfortable but nowadays it is only use for sightseeing for tourists. There is an amazing view that you can see the whole city from there with binoculars.

It is the most popular meeting point in Izmir for teenagers like us. There is a long walking path by the sea. There are a lot of cafes where you can drink or eat anything you like. If you want to, you can also lie on the grass with some friends and enjoy

It is also one of the most popular places in Izmir which has a funfair in it. A lot of activities have been made throughout the year. Don’t miss there.




Bostanlı is one the best places in İzmir where you can find good restaurants, cafés and nightclubs. Also, it is very close to seaside, so you can drink and watch the sunset. Also when the weather is warm you can enjoy the sun here in daytime.

The Cable car

If you want to see Izmir from the top you really  should visit there. It is the ideal place to have a small walk among the hills. We’re sure that you’ll love the environment.
