São Paulo is a Brazilian municipality located in the southeastern part of the country. The metropolis is an alpha global city — as listed by the GaWC — and is themost populous city in Brazil, South America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the Americas. It is also the world's 9th largest city by population.

The Greater São Paulo ranked as the most populous metropolitan area in Brazil, the second in the Americas, the Southern Hemisphere, and the world's 10th biggest metropolis by population. The city is the capital of the state of São Paulo, Brazil's most populous and wealthiest state. It exerts strong regional influence in commerce, finance, arts and entertainment and a strong international influence.

Having the largest economy by GDP in Latin America and Southern Hemisphere, the city is home to the São Paulo Stock Exchange. Paulista Avenue is the economic core of São Paulo. The metropolis is also home to several of the tallest buildings in Brazil, including the building Mirante do Vale, Edifício Itália, Banespa, North Tower and many others. The city has cultural, economic and political influence both nationally and internationally. It is home to monuments, parks and museums such as theLatin American Memorial, the Ibirapuera Park, Museum of Ipiranga, São Paulo Museum of Art, and the Museum of the Portuguese Language. The city holds events like the São Paulo Art Biennial, the Brazilian Grand Prix, São Paulo Fashion Weekand the ATP Brasil Open. São Paulo hosts the world's largest gay pride parade.

São Paulo is a cosmopolitan, melting pot city, home to the largest Italian, Arab and Japanese diasporas, with examples includingethnic neighborhoods of Bexiga, Mercado and Liberdade respectively. People from the city are known as paulistanos, while paulistas designates anyone from the state, including the paulistanos. The city's Latin motto, which it has shared with the battleship and the aircraft carrier named after it, is Non ducor, duco, which translates as "I am not led, I lead." The city, which is also colloquially known as Sampa or Terra da Garoa (Land of Drizzle), is known for its unreliable weather, its architecture, gastronomy, severe traffic congestion and skyscrapers.


The University Teaching Method: Team Based Learning (TBL)
A history of hard work and dedication in favor of Brazilian medical education. For over 50 years, in the district of Vila Maria, arises the Typing School Anchieta founded by a couple of professors, Mr. Joseph and  Mrs. Lydia Storópoli Storópoli. Enterprise was the initial basis for the formation of the University Nine of July - UNINOVE, one of the best universities in Brazil nowadays, one of the largest high level education institutions (graduation and post-grad) in São Paulo, resulting in a fast growing rate in recent years.
Currently, administered by Prof. Eduardo Storópoli (dean of the institution, and son of the founder) UNINOVE became an educational complex consisting of four campuses (Villa Maria, Memorial, Vergueiro and Santo Amaro), all located in easily accessible spots in the city of São Paulo.
Moreover, it is worth mentioning the prestige obtained by the medical course, which received recognition from MEC, with top marks, even before its first class graduated. This reinforces the excellent training provided by UNINOVE to prepare competent professionals in healthcare.
With more than 15 years of tradition, the medical course obtained an excellent performance, being the 2nd best medical course in the country, according to the latest evaluation of the Ministry of Health. The information refers to the 2016 evaluative cycle of the National Student Performance Examination (Enade), which included 18 assessment areas, 4,300 courses and 195,757 exam participants.
UNINOVE is the best non-confessional private university in São Paulo for the 4th consecutive year, according to RUF 2017 - University Ranking of Folha de S. Paulo, and also one of the best universities in Latin America, according to the international ranking Scimago and The - Times Higher Education.

Usually our student's are placed in host family or at students hostel. If you bring your laptop, you'll can acess wireless internet at college (just academic pages), at shoppings of the São Paulo city and on the host's house, if she/he have wireless router. If you don't, you can acess on the college computers at the library (just academic pages), at host's house and on lan houses.
Student house or host family. You will be provided accommodation with one host student (of course a student from our med school), who may live alone, with the family or with other students as well. We’ll be sending you his/her e-mail, or he/she will get in touch, so you can have a better contact before arriving. Your meals will be served at the cafeteria of the hospital.

We count with an airport and large number of bus companies and agencies. We have a subway network that interconnects various points in the city. Welcome to the city which has the most concentration of 'everything' per inhabitant in Brazil.

By Plane

After you arrive in Guarulhos International Airport (GRU), you will take from airport bus service in GRU to the subway on tatuapé station (line red)', go away of Jabaquara direction, change the line in Sé station, thus, go away indirection Barra Funda dissembark São Joaquim station.

If you arrive in Congonhas Airport(CGH), you should take a cab up to the nearest subway station reaching Sé station, and then disembark at the station Sao joaquim.

With 21% of the municipal area covered by green area (including ecological reserves), Sao Paulo has 40 municipal parks and state, as the Tourist State Park Cantareira, which houses one of the largest urban forests in the world, the State Park of sources Ipiranga, the Ibirapuera Park, the Tietê Ecological Park, the Jaragua State Park, listed as World Heritage by UNESCO in 1994, the Environmental Protection Area Capivari-Monos, Parque Estadual da Serra do Mar, Parque Anhanguera, the Parque Villa-Lobos, the People's Park, among others.

Moreover, we have several bars and clubs within easy reach through the subway.

It has important monuments, parks and museums, such as the Latin American Memorial, the Museum of the Portuguese Language, the Ipiranga Museum, MASP, the Ibirapuera Park, the Botanical Garden of São Paulo and Paulista Avenue, and events of great impact, as the International Art Biennial, the Brazil Grand Prix Formula 1 Sao Paulo Fashion Week and Sao Paulo Indy 300.
