Our city is located western-southern part of Japan, and it takes only 3 hours by super express train from Tokyo, the capital city of Japan, and 1 hour from Osaka, the second largest city. Okayama University is one of the most famous University hospitals in Japan as for medical research and surgery. We have the second longest history between Japanese university hospitals, which is extremely important for development of each medical departments.
Though no money would be given to you, you can get one meal per day for free. You will get breakfast everyday prepared by host-family members. For lunch, we have several good restaurants and cafeterias in our university hospital, thus you can have it there with only 5 dollars. As for dinner, you will cook it with the family members, or you can go out for it because there are many restaurant, convenience stores, and supermarkets around the place you will live.
Usually, you will be staying at a medical student’s apartment or dormitory with them. The apartment is fully furnished, which allows you to have a very convenient life in Okayama. You will get one private room and share kitchen and bathroom with medical students.
Take a shuttle bus from Okayama airport to Okayama station. You will have it each 30 minutes from morning to evening, and it takes only 30 minutes to the station. Usually, one of our members will be waiting for you at airport. You don’t have to get nervous about it.
