OVERVIEW

Fu Jen Catholic University (FJU, FJCU) Currently the University consists of 11 colleges, 48 departments, offering master’s programs, in-service master's programs, Ph.D programs, and departments in the School of Continuing Education. Fu Jen has more than 25,000 students,and has most fields of study (with top-ranks) in Taiwan’s private universities. In the Sinophone world, Fu Jen is the oldest pontifical university in Taiwan. Accroding to Times Higher Education-QS World University Rankings, Fu Jen ranks as the 501+th university worldwide, and 127th in Asia.

The medical college is established in 2000, which is the lastest college in Fu Jen. The establishment of our School of Medicine has allowed the university to become the third comprehensive university in Taiwan to provide medical education. Founded in 2000, the School of Medicine at Fu Jen Catholic University is committed to cultivating future physicians as true professionals with medical knowledge and clinical expertise that complement the core values of Catholic belief : love, compassion, and dedication to others. Cardinal Tien Hospital

History Profile: In the 1960's, the late Cardinal Tien ken-Sin built this hospital from the ground up in order to provide the public with improved medical care. As available resources in Taiwan were very limited, Cardinal Tien worked tirelessly to raise funds from charitable organizations in West Germany. On October 22, 1968, the day of dedication, the hospital was named after him in recognition and gratitude for his leadership and selfless giving.

Cathay General Hospital is a medical center conveniently located in the center of Taipei, serving the community and people of northern Taiwan with quality healthcare over 30 years. The Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital is a leading medical center with 42 specialty departments highly qualified for the diagnosis and treatment of a broad spectrum of diseases, and a total of 862 beds offers the best medical service to the community.

Founded in 1992, the Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital was approved by the National Health Ministry as a medical center after a rigorous accreditation process which further strengthened its commitment to provide the best health care services to all patients and to give back to the community as well.

LODGING

Fu Jen Catholic University (For SCORE incoming)

Each room accommodates two to four people: single beds, wardrobes, desks, sockets (110 V, 60 Hz; Please check before you use) and wi-fi. Slot washing machines are available.
Besides Fu Jen LiXue Hall, all the other university dormitories are with shared bathroom.
Some dorms offer lounges at specific floor, refrigerators, TVs, and fitness equipment.

Cardinal Tien Hospital

The dormitory for international students is within the hospital area, just above the psychiatric clinic. It takes only about 30 seconds to get to the main building of the hospital

-Each room

consists of 4-5 personals; including beds, desks, and closets, and a bathroom for each room.(well, the basics~~)
However, there will be no battery charger,adapter, or other daily necessities provided. So it would be better if INCOMINGS can bring these stuff with them when they come to Taiwan, so that there won't be many unnecessary costs when you come to Taiwan, and you will have more time to go sightseeing and relax XDD
About the mattress, we will buy it for you when you come to Taiwan.

-Internet services:

The hospital provides a wireless network which can be received at almost every corner within the buildings; each incoming will receive one set of account number and password.

-Laundry:

Every floor has its own public sanitary&bathroom equipments, as well as self-washing machines and dryers.

-Relaxation:

There are also lounges at every floor for people to chat and relax(Incomings can chat with local students next door to know more about Taiwan or Chinese culture!), refrigerators to store food, and TVs.

-Where to eat:

A food square is located at the B1 of building E, where incomings could go and have lunch and take some rest. At the ground floor there is a 7-11, a cafe providing breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. If those are not enough, plenty of snack-bars, shabu shabu restaurants, steak houses, and inevitably, Mac'Donalds for incoming guests to choose! All of them can be reached by taking a stroll less than 5 mins. If none above is desired, then incomings could order lunch with the individual departments.

-NOTE!!:

There are access controls to the dormitory. Incomings would need the magnetic card provided by the hospital to enter the building.

The dormitory is at Sijhih.From the dormitory to the working hospital,you have to take the shuttle bus .

How to get to Fu Jen Catholic University from Taoyuan International Airport?

1. Bus+MRT:

Bus

MRT

- Take the airport bus Kuokuang Line 1819 to Taipei Main Station.
- Take the airport bus Kuokuang Line 1841 to MRT Zhongshan Elementary School Station.
- Take the airport bus CitiAir Bus East Line 1960 to MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.
- Take the airport bus Free Go Bus Line 5520 to MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station.

Transfer to the MRT for Fu Jen University Station. 
 

Notice:
-To get to Fu Jen University, you have to transfer to the orange line and take the metro in the direction of Huilong. Be careful, there are two directions at the orange line. One is to Luzhou and the other one is to Huilong. Don’t take the wrong one!

2. Taxi:
-Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of the Terminal 1's and Terminal 2's Arrivals Lobby at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It costs approximate NTD 1,200 to 1,500 (around USD $35 to $45) and 40 to 50 minutes.

1. Bus:
-Take the airport bus CitiAir Bus Line 1968 to MRT Qizhang Station. Then transfer to Bus 830, Bus 930, Bus 941, Bus Green 15, or free shuttle bus of the hospital for Cardinal Tien Hospital.

2. Taxi:
-Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of the Terminal 1's and Terminal 2's Arrivals Lobby at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It costs approximate NTD 1,200 to 1,500 (around USD $35 to $45) and 40 to 50 minutes.

How to get to Cathay General Hospital from Taoyuan International Airport?

1. Bus:
-Take the airport bus Kuokuang Line 1819 to Taipei Main Station. Then take the MRT Red Line to Xinyi Anhe Station and walk about 10 minutes.

2.Taxi:
-Taxis operating by shifts are located at the west side of the Terminal 1's and Terminal 2's Arrivals Lobby at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. It costs approximate NTD 1,200 to 1,500 (around USD $35 to $45) and 40 to 50 minutes.

Actually there will be CPs to guide you throughout your journey in Taiwan. But just in case, and for your own reference, here are the transportation need-to-knows that you should know about to get yourself from anywhere to FJU, Cardinal Tein Hospital, or Cathay General Hospital.

1.MRT+Bus

-Take the airport bus Kuokuang Line 1819 to Taipei Main Station.

-Transfer the MRT for Jiantan Station (Exit #1) and take free shuttled bus to SKH.

-Or transfer the MRT for Shilin Station (Exit #1) and walk for 10 minutes to SKH

2.Taxi

Taxi fare from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to SKH is about1000-1500NTD.

3.Shuttle Bus Services

The shuttle bus offers you a free ride between MRT Jiantan Station and Shin Kong Hospital.

Containing all sorts of cusines and Taiwanese traditional snacks!! Just take the MRT and get off at Jiantan MRT Station!!
