University of Medicine and Pharmacy „Iuliu Hatieganu” is the oldest medical education instiution in Transylvania. The university has over 6,000 national and international students, 2,400 resident physicians, as well as over 1,100 teachers and researchers. It was named in honor of scientist Iuliu Hatieganu. The university is classified as an "advanced research and education university" by the Ministry of Education.
The University is composed of the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dental Medicine which all have both English and French sections.
County Emergency University Hospital Cluj-Napoca is the biggest hospital in Romania and has almost all medical and surgical specialties. It is a teaching and medical research institution nationally and internationally recognized. Together with the University, it hosts multiple research programs and different academic activities.

2. How to get around the city?
Once you arrive in Cluj-Napoca, you can get from one place to another by bus, taxi or simply walking.
It is very easy to find a taxi, either by calling, or using the taxi phone application (Clever Taxi), but there are also many taxi stations all around the city. The fee is 2.25 RON / km(0,5Eur/km). We highly recommend you to walk to and from the hospital, and afterwards to the Student's Cafeteria and the dorms. In this way you can explore even more the city, feel it's unique vibe and stay fit during your exchange. Only benefits!!
