Bucharest is the capital of Romania being the largest city with a population over 2 millions and it is the most important city in Romania.

The only state university of medicine in Bucharest is called "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The university was founded in 1857 and it is the oldest university of medicine in Romania. The clerkships take place in university's departments (SCORE) and in our hospitals (SCOPE and SCORE depending on the project).
RESEARCH PROJECTS AND LABS
We currently have research projects in the following departmens: Microbiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Neurology.
One meal per day is offered in a restaurant, excluding the weekend.
Students will have accomodation in dorms. The room is for 2 or 3 people.
Henri Coanda International Airport is located 16.5 km north of the Bucharest city center, in the town of Otopeni, Ilfov. On arrival, a student will pick you up at the airport (or station if you choose to travel by bus) and take you to the dormroom. Bucharest's public transport is made up of Bucharest Metro (Metrorex) as well as a surface transport system (RATB) which consists of buses, trams and trolleybuses. We highly recommend purchasing a monthly metro card, which will enable you travel to the most important places in the city as many times you wish during that month (cost: 70 lei, which is approximately 16 €). Taxis are also available in the city but it is always a more expensive choice. If you want to visit other cities, taking a train is a good option. The main railway station is Gara de Nord, which provides connections to all major cities in Romania.
Bucharest is the capital city of Romania, so you do not have to worry about what to do in your free time. Pubs, clubs,
gardens, parks and more are waiting for you here. We will show you how to party like a Romanian student and how to
enjoy your month here. Also, our team of volunteers will be showing you every place that you do not have to miss !
In some of the weekends we will go outside the city, so you can get to see more than Bucharest can offer !
